Teresa Barnett

Teresa's time is spent working with her clients on on asset preservation, disclosure issues and joining third parties as intervenors in financial remedy proceedings.

Teresa is highly experienced in cases involving the financial consequences of marital and relationship breakdown and issues relating to children. She advises clients on private law children matters including applications to live and spend time with parents (formerly known as residence and contact), specific issues orders and applications for leave to remove children from the jurisdiction. She is experienced in advising on pre and post-marital agreements, separation and cohabitation agreements. 

Teresa has solid litigation experience and has taken cases before senior judges, she does, however, try to settle cases where possible utilising negotiation, mediation, and arbitration. 

Teresa is a member of Resolution, an organisation which believes in adopting a constructive, non-confrontational approach to family law matters; she undertakes pro bono work at the Family CAB in Holborn and Families Need Fathers.
